Start of Project Preparation of the National Guideline for Acute Coronary Syndrome

The first meeting of the Acute Coronary Syndrome Guideline (ACS) preparation group was held virtually on Wednesday, July 2, 2021, and the first phase of the project officially began. The main purpose of this guideline is to optimize the patients' care with the acute coronary syndrome. It is worth noting that in different countries, different clinical guidelines have been developed for the prevention, control, and treatment of acute coronary syndrome, but due to differences in awareness, cultural, social, economic conditions, and the structure and environment of health services in Iran compared to other countries and also considering the order of the Office of Health Technology Assessment, Standardization and Tariff of Health Services, Isfahan Cardiovascular Research Institute and Iran Cardiovascular Research Network decided to prepare the first Iranian guideline of the management and treatment of acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The members of this group consist of specialists and experts in various fields from medical universities, scientific associations, and the relevant ministry.
